Colorado Springs Restaurants

Colorado Springs restaurants are many and varied. From American to Italian, and others in between, these are the ones I've tried and recommend to you. I hope you like them as much as I do!

1) The Mason Jar Restaurant: this cozy little restaurant with a fireplace is located at the corner of 30th street and Colorado Ave., (in Old Colorado City), and parking is available onsite.

The food at this Colorado Springs restaurant is homestyle American and the specialty is chicken fried steak. Other things on the menu include soups and salads, burgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken strips, fish, shrimp, prime rib, and steak, among other things.

This is a lunch and dinner place and the prices range from about $5.00-$12.00 dollars. And in case you were wondering, they do serve drinks in mason jars! Also, the staff is friendly and attentive.

For more information, including directions and contact information, here's a link to the Mason Jar Restaurant website.

2) Marigold Cafe and Bakery: this is an upscale type of place with an open kitchen and they are located at 4605 Centennial Blvd. in Colorado Springs. Parking is available onsite.

Although this Colorado Springs restaurant is a "French" restaurant, the entrees are a mix of French and Italian food. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served here and you'll find things like sandwiches, soup, salads, chicken, fish, steak, pizza, and pasta, on the menu.

If you're going to the nearby Garden of the Gods, check out the box lunch menu. Also, don't forget the bakery...it has many tasty items, including my favorite: pain au chocolate. And lastly, the prices here range from about $6.00-$24.00 dollars.

Marigold Cafe and Bakery phone number: 719-599-4776. And directions to this fine place: I-25 to exit 146, (Garden of the Gods); go one mile west on Garden of the Gods Rd., and turn right on Centennial Blvd. Then be looking for it on the right side of the road. It's located in a shopping center, so that's what you should be looking for, as you're looking for it.

3) The Elephant Bar Restaurant: this is a chain restaurant with a jungle/rainforest type of atmosphere. They brag about serving "elephant size" portions, so make sure you bring your appetite. The restaurant is located at 7585 N. Academy Blvd. and parking is available onsite.

This is an interesting, (in a good way), place that serves three different types of food: Tropical, Asian, and American. Some examples from the menu are: shrimp and chicken jambalaya, fire grilled catfish with tropical salsa, crispy teriyaki chicken, misoyaki fired grilled salmon, smokehouse BBQ chicken sandwich, and New York steak sandwich.

Lunch and dinner are served here, and our experience was that the servers are friendly and attentive. Also, the prices range from about $5.00-$18.00 dollars.

For more information about this Colorado Springs restaurant, including contact information and menu options, here's a link to the Elephant Bar Restaurant website. And since the site doesn't give specific directions to the restaurant, here they are: I-25 to exit 150, then it's about 1.6 miles east on N. Academy Blvd. Look for it on the left side of the road.

4) Ted's Montana Grill: this Colorado Springs restaurant is another chain restaurant and it was co-founded by media entrepreneur and environmentalist Ted Turner. The restaurant is lucky enough to have an outdoor seating area that overlooks Pikes Peak and the surrounding mountains. You'll find it in The Promenade Shops at Briargate, and the restaurant address is 1685 Briargate Parkway.

The restaurant serves classic American food that's made from scratch, and burgers, (both beef and bison), are a large part of the menu. Other things you might see on the menu incude: soup, salads, chicken, prime rib of beef, trout, and steak among other things. Also on the menu are blue plate specials; one for each day of the week. Prices for entrees range from about $6.00-$20.00.

For more information, here's a link to Ted's Montana Grill. And directions to this Colorado Springs restaurant are: I-25 to exit 151; then it's about 0.7 miles east to the point where you turn right into The Promenade Shops at Briargate on Briargate Parkway.

I'll be adding more Colorado Springs restaurants to this page as I get to them. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the ones I have here so far!
