North Clear Creek Falls

Just off highway 149 below Lake City, Colorado and can almost drive to it. Beautiful but for the pine beetle kill at the bottom of the falls. One of the most beautiful falls I have seen.

Karen's reply: thank you so much for these two beautiful photos of North Clear Creek Falls. They make me want to go there and see it again!

I'm also wondering if you saw South Clear Creek Falls, which is only a short distance away. For anyone who might be interested, South Clear Creek Falls is just a short ways south, (from North Clear Creek Falls), along Hwy. 149. Look for the Silver Thread Campground on your left and turn into it when you see it. The trail to the falls starts at the far end of this small campground, and it's only about a five minute walk down to the falls. Although it's not as big and spectacular as North Clear Creek Falls, I think it's definitely worth visiting if you're in the area.

Karen thanks I did not know that but now I do thanks to you. We are going that way again in Sept.

Karen's reply: You're welcome :-), and I hope you can stop by and see it when you go back in September.
